  •  Christine Brown from Sister Wives is disappointed because her daughter Gwendlyn didn’t attend her wedding with David Woolley.
  •  Mykelti and Tony Padron reveal that they are unsure of the reasons behind Gwendlyn’s absence and prefer not to speculate.
  •  It is possible that Gwendlyn’s decision to skip the wedding may be related to her strained relationship with her brother, Paedon.

Christine Brown from Sister Wives is disheartened because one of her children didn’t attend her wedding with David Woolley. Fans may know Christine for her marriage with Kody Brown. The couple got married in 1994 and had five daughters—Aspyn, Mykelti, Gwendlyn, Ysabel, and Truely—and a son, Paedon. After welcoming six kids with Kody, Christine still didn’t feel the love she deserved. Therefore, she left her troubled polygamous marriage in November 2021 and moved on to find another man. In 2023, the Sister Wives star met her soulmate David and tied the knot with him.

Christine and David had the wedding of their dreams on October 7. While the moment called for celebration, the Sister Wives cast member was unhappy because one of Christine’s daughters Gwendlyn Brown didn’t show up. According to a Sister Wives fan page by Katie Joy, Mykelti and Tony Padron revealed that Gwendlyn didn’t attend the wedding. Mykelti said she was shocked when Gwendlyn didn’t turn up for their mom’s big day.

She added, “I don’t know the reasons why. There could have been an emergency. There could have been nothing, who knows?…But it is sad.” Mykelti and Tony don’t know why Gwendlyn chose not to attend her mother’s wedding, and they avoided speculating.

Mykelti Shuts Down Theory That Gwen Is Jealous Of Christine Brown

Mykelti also dismissed the theory that Gwendlyn was jealous of their mother, Christine. She said (as reported by Us Weekly), “I don’t think that she’s upset that mom got more attention,”

referring to when Christine and Kody became the center of attention during Gwendlyn’s engagement party. Other possibilities include past Brown family drama. There is some suggestion that Gwendlyn didn’t want to be part of the wedding after her brother Paedon allegedly physically assaulted her a few years ago. However, Mykelti didn’t share anything about that, which may imply that it isn’t true.

It is sad that Gwendlyn decided to skip such a major day in her mother’s life. However, it is hard to blame her if she didn’t attend the wedding because of her brother. While sibling rivalry is common, the outcome is always different. Some people dust off their shoulders after fighting with their siblings and move on with a stronger bond. Others forever hate each other after a physical altercation and are not able to form the same relationship again. Gwendlyn may not have forgiven her brother for what happened a few years ago.

Gwendlyn doesn’t follow her brother, Paedon, on Instagram, and vice versa. Therefore, it’s likely they aren’t on friendly terms yet. However, the lack of a good relationship with her brother doesn’t excuse her not spending the day with dozens of other relatives who love her. Christine, Janelle, Savanah, and the rest of the family would have appreciated it if Gwendlyn had been part of the family gathering. Such happy occasions are often a good time to build better relationships. Gwendlyn could have simply avoided talking to Paedon and spent the time with other Sister Wives stars.

Sister Wives airs Sundays at 10 p.m. EDT on TLC.
