General Hospital Spoilers: Sonny’s Chance at Sole Donna Custody – Diane’s Tempting Carly Takedown Proposal
General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) will summon Diane Miller (Carolyn Hennesy) for a meeting on May 8 and push her to help Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) out of her latest legal jam.
Diane will have to ask why under the circumstances and will think back to just how acrimonious the divorce was.
That said, the split was legally straightforward since Carly waived her right to millions in shared assets.
Carly was only willing to accept the house and shared custody of Donna Corinthos (Scarlett Spears), but Sonny will think Diane’s answering her own question.
When it comes to the reason why Sonny wants to help Carly, he’ll insist he won’t allow Donna’s mother to go to prison.
Diane will wonder if Sonny really means that and will ask if all this is being done for Donna’s sake.
Sonny will confirm that’s true, so Diane will be impressed considering the temptation that Carly’s dilemma could bring.
When Sonny doesn’t get what Diane means, she’ll suggest he shouldn’t pretend he hasn’t thought about it.
Diane will state the obvious and point out that if Carly goes to prison, Sonny will get sole custody of Donna – and t hen he can share his youngest daughter with Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros).
Of course, Sonny may take offense at the notion that he’d take advantage of the situation like that.
Although Sonny isn’t a couple with Carly anymore, he respects her role as Donna’s mom.
Besides, Sonny knows how much Donna adores Carly, so he may argue that he’d never wish for a heartbreaking mother-daughter separation if he could prevent it.
As for Nina, she already has a spot in Donna’s life. Carly may not approve, but she’s come to accept that Nina is part of the picture for Sonny and will inevitably be around Donna as a result.
With all that in mind, GH spoilers say Sonny will push Diane to fight hard for Carly’s freedom and bend the rules if necessary.
Diane would never risk her career by taking things too far, but she knows how to straddle the legal line and keep her hands clean while still playing a bit dirty!
