However, things don’t seem to look up until Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) switches his investigation focus. Instead of trying to figure out who is responsible, Dante suggests focusing on the motive – why the fire was started in the first place.
Devastation, Char & Hopelessness
GH spoilers for the week of August 14 reveal that Valentin and Anna will sit with hopelessness after the fiery blaze. Even though Anna’s life has been in danger, she has remained determined to figure out who is targeting her.
However, it seems that Anna is beginning to lose hope of ever getting on top of this situation. Even Valentin seems to be losing hope as he talks to Anna about what led them to this point.
GH Spoilers: Valentin Cassadine’s Clue
While sitting in front of the charred rubble of the house, Valentin makes an interesting statement. As firefighters walk through the scattered ashes, Valentin tells Anna that all of this first started when Victor Cassadine (Charles Shaughnessy) outed her past.
Even though Valentin and Anna don’t seem to have any additional leads right now, the timing is definitely a clue.
Then, Valentin says that it looks like Victor got what he wanted.
Anna Devane’s Theory

Anna goes to the police station to speak with Dante. In the weekly preview clip, Anna tells Dante that the target must want payback.
The look in Anna’s eyes and how animated her body language is suggests there might be something good ahead.
Anna seems to have found or figure out something that’s giving her renewed hope.

That is when Dante tells Anna what he is going to do in the meantime. Since they can’t seem to come up with any solid leads on who is targeting Anna, Dante looks at the investigation from another angle.
Many in law enforcement or PI work will need to do this in certain cases. Sometimes, the “who” isn’t easily determined.
However, focusing on figuring out the motive of a crime could unravel the rest of the case. So, will Dante be the hero and save Anna before it’s too late?
