General Hospital (GH) fans are still reeling from the sad news of Jacklyn Zeman’s passing at the age of 70. Her incredible character, Bobbie Spencer, created a legacy in the land of Port Charles that will never be forgotten. Zeman and Bobbie had a number of amazing GH storylines over the years; one article can’t fit them all. With that being said, likely her most memorable one was the passing of BJ Jones (Brighton Hertford). BJ was Bobbie’s adoptive daughter and at the age of seven, she was left brain-dead after her school bus had a collision. Father Tony Jones (Brad Maule) and Bobbie had the heart-wrenching decision to pull BJ off life support, in order to save their niece Maxie Jones’ (Kirsten Storms) life. That scene between Bobbie and Felicia Scorpio (Kristina Wagner) – when Felicia realizes it is BJ’s heart going to Maxie – still brings tears to many fans’ eyes when they watch it.
General Hospital Updates – Her Relationship With Carly Spencer
As is always the case in soaps if an unknown child pops up in storylines; when Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) first came to Port Chuckles, she and Bobbie were mortal enemies. After all, Carly was trying to snag Bobbie’s husband, Tony, at the time. While her marriage to Mr. Jones ended, Bobbie’s hate for Carly turned to like and then love when she found out the young woman was her daughter. Over the years, the two have built a strong and beautiful relationship. In fact, when Carly recently divorced Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard), she decided to take on the Spencer name.
From Prostitute To Respected Medical Professional
Fans can’t forget that Bobbie first entered storylines as a troubled teenage prostitute, after all, it’s mentioned quite frequently in storylines, up to this day. Still, over the years she worked hard to turn her life around, and she did. She also happened to be a major schemer as a young girl but evolved into one of the top heroines in the soap.
