Mother’s Day is coming up this Sunday, May 14th, and kids will be showing mom’s all around the world just how much they are appreciated! With that being said, there are mommas all over daytime drama that deserve to be celebrated, too. The land of Port Charles has some great mothers and below are three to highlight from General Hospital (GH).
General Hospital Spoilers – Maxie Jones’s Sacrifices For Her Kids
Singles moms are heroes, right? The same could be said for Maxie Jones (Kristen Storms) a mother in Port Chuckles that works and takes care of her three kiddos, single-handedly! Still, Jones went into major momma-bear mode when she realized that Peter August (Wes Ramsey) wasn’t the man she thought he was. She not only pretended Bailey Jones (London and Jett Prinzo-Beredt) was not hers, wasting precious “baby time” away from her little one; when push came to shove, she offered herself up as a hostage to Peter, bargaining that they leave Bailey-Lu in Port Charles and embark on a new life together far away from the little town. Talk about working overtime to protect your children!
GH Spoilers – Willow Corinthos Places Her Life On The Line
Across town, Willow Corinthos (Katelyn MacMullen) is a momma hero, in her own right! She was so fiercely protective over Wiley Corinthos (Viron Weaver), despite not being his biological mom, that she married Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) to keep the little boy away from Nelle Benson (Chloe Lanier); even though she was in love with another man.
While she, Michael, and Wiley would eventually become a real family, a baby would make four in the form of Amelia Corinthos (Owen and Nathan Ford). Sadly, Willow found out she had leukemia around the same time she discovered she was pregnant and refused treatment as she didn’t want to do anything to harm her baby.
GH Spoilers – Laura Collins Is An Amazing Mom & Grandmother, Too!
Laura Collins (Genie Francis) is an incredible mom, who’s done her best to raise three children, considering the circumstances in her life. She’s always been there for kiddos Lulu Spencer (Emme Rylan), Lucky Spencer (Jonathan Jackson), and Nikolas Cassadine (Adam Huss) and has always tried to support them.
With that said, she’s been an incredible grandmother to her grandchildren, always offering them a place to stay in her home when their parents are missing, thought to be dead, or just off on an adventure. More specifically, she’s truly become a mother figure to Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Chavez), who’s mom sadly passed away shortly after he was born. No one can be counted on more than Laura, who somehow also manages a busy career as the town’s mayor, and in her spare time jets off to Greenland to save the world.
