General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that Elizabeth Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst) is a popular character who often gets overlooked by the writers when it comes to romantic material. Liz could use a shakeup in her love life, so let’s consider who she might be paired up with.
It’s possible GH writers will continue this whole “will they, won’t they” thing they’re doing with Liz and Hamilton Finn (Michael Easton), but that’s getting old at this point.
Finn and Liz have arguably never had a lot of chemistry anyway, so why bother trying to salvage this pairing?
Between the bizarre Reiko Finn (Mele Ihara) rewrite and Liz’s fake pregnancy by Nikolas Cassadine (last played by Adam Huss), too much has gone down between Liz and Finn.
Since they’ve always had a better vibe as friends anyway, it’d be great if the writers could just close the romantic door on Finn and Elizabeth permanently.
That would free Liz up for a love story with someone else, so who might be a good match?
Some fans have been rooting for something romantic to happen between Liz and Zeke Robinson (Gavin Houston).
Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr) introduced Elizabeth to her brother and has a strong friendship with Liz, so she probably wouldn’t be opposed to the two of them dating.
Of course, part of Portia might like the idea of Zeke keeping Jordan Ashford (Tanisha Harper) away from Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) instead, but another part of her may feel like it’s too awkward.
Regardless, Zeke is still single and might as well play the field a bit. Since Zeke clearly doesn’t mind hot hookups, maybe Elizabeth could at least have a little fun with him!
Down the road, there’s always the possibility of Elizabeth reuniting with Nikolas.
Since a Nik recast will presumably hit the screen sooner or later, it’d be easy to reignite his connection with Liz – especially if they hire someone who’s got sizzling chemistry with her.
On the other hand, Victor Cassadine’s (Charles Shaughnessy) will reading talked about Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco) perhaps using tarot cards to make herself “lucky” in love.
That led to speculation that a Lucky Spencer recast might be in the works – and if that’s true, maybe Sam and Liz could have a love triangle brewing with him.
There are plenty of possibilities to choose from when it comes to writing romances for Elizabeth, so let’s hope something’s in the works that’ll lead to good news for her love life.
