General Hospital Spoilers: Esme Pushes Spencer to Marry – Stop Nikolas From Winning Ace Custody Case?
General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Alexander Chavez) could find himself in a tight spot once Nikolas Cassadine (Adam Huss) finally returns. Nikolas is currently hiding out with Austin Gatlin-Holt (Roger Howarth), but it’s just a matter of time until he makes a big splash with his comeback.
Of course, Nikolas could be facing charges for holding Esme Prince (Avery Pohl) captive at Wyndemere, but Esme can’t even remember being his hostage.
That could certainly weaken the case – perhaps to the point where it gets thrown out entirely.
Although Elizabeth Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst) gave a statement against Nikolas, GH fans will recall how she went through some traumatic issues of her own due to repressed memories and that whole mess with her parents.
Liz even had moments where she was zoning out and missing time, so a judge might end up ignoring her side of the story.
It makes sense to keep Nikolas free and have him go after custody of Ace Cassadine (Jay and Joey Clay), so this could lead to a major feud in court.
Who will win General Hospital custody battle for Ace – Esme or Nikolas?
Spencer initially wanted to take custody away from both Nikolas and Esme, but a lot’s changed since then – especially Spencer’s view of Esme as a mother.
Although Spencer may never fully trust Esme, he can at least acknowledge that she’s a good mom.
Spencer has confessed that to Esme herself – and he recently told Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn) the same thing.
At this point, Ace has bonded with Esme, who’s doing a perfectly fine job of raising him.
Spencer would never try to rip Ace from the mother that he knows and loves under these circumstances.
However, Nikolas could bring plenty of money and connections to the table when it comes to the fight for Ace. It could leave Esme concerned and feeling like she needs to do more to help her own case in court.
Will Esme push Spencer to marry her so that they look like a happy, united couple in front of the judge? It could be partly for the sake of getting custody and partly one of Esme’s typical manipulative moves!
Still, Diane Miller (Carolyn Hennesy) might advise Spencer that it wouldn’t be a bad idea if he wants to obtain legal rights and try to keep Nikolas at a distance.
Spencer’s relationship with Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) wouldn’t survive if he did something as drastic as marry Esme, but he might have to decide whether he’ll sacrifice romantic love for the chance to keep co-parenting his little brother.
General Hospital spoilers say Spencer may make some updates to his strategy once Nikolas is back in the picture, so stay tuned for news on what’s ahead for this father and son.
