Sister Wives star Meri Brown, 52, is called out for using too many filters and over-editing herself in unrecognizable snap: ‘FaceTune nightmare’
Meri Brown has been called out for over-editing herself in a new Instagram post shared on Thursday.
The Sister Wives reality TV star, 52, was slammed by fans for using too many filters and photo-editing apps to the point of looking nearly unrecognizable in a new selfie.
The ex-wife of Kody Brown — who confirmed her divorce in December 2022 after a 32-year ‘spiritual marriage’ — beamed in the close-up snap posing alongside a gal pal.
In the picture, she had noticeably smoothed her skin, brightened her eyes, and edited flawless makeup in post-production.
The photo circulated online, and Reddit users left harsh comments with one critic calling her a ‘FaceTune nightmare’.
Another social media user called her out for not embracing her age.
‘I really wish filters like this weren’t so prominent,’ the comment read. ‘Women age. We have fine lines and wrinkles. It’s not a bad thing.
‘As long as she is happy, that’s what matters,’ one Reddit user wrote. ‘But for me personally…I feel like it causes MORE self-scrutiny in the long run.’
Another fan prompted the question: ‘Why does she do this when we see her real face on TV?’
Underneath the comment section on the Instagram post, one user opined: ‘Why do you not embrace your age and just coat it with 1000 layers [sic] of filter?’
Other fans came to her defense, and one social media user even responded to the aforementioned comment and contended: ‘Why do you care? It doesn’t affect you.’
Previously, she confirmed that she and Kody had ended their famously polyamorous relationship during a spin-off episode of their hit TLC show titled Sister Wives: One on One.
Since the split, Meri has seemingly undergone a major transformation and taken to social media to showcase her slimmer appearance.
