General Hospital Recap: Friday, June 30 – Ava & Austin Land In Bed – Warm Feelings Begin for Esme and Spencer
General Hospital (GH) spoilers recap for Friday, June 30, reveals that Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) listened to Spencer Cassadine’s (Nicholas Alexander Chavez) voicemail and could hear him yelling at Esme Prince (Avery Pohl) to get out.
However, Trina turned her attention to Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr) in her office, where they bickered over Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) kiss with Jordan Ashford (Tanisha Harper) and whether Portia was letting him off the hook too easily.
Portia insisted her marriage wasn’t Trina’s concern and clearly didn’t want that interfering with her daughter’s attempt to bond with Curtis.
When Trina ignored Spencer’s call, she admitted he picked a fight with Dex Heller (Evan Hofer) earlier and reverted to his old ways.
Although Portia couldn’t overlook how Spencer hurt Trina in the past, she acknowledged that he’d matured somewhat and hinted about him possibly taking a parenting class with Esme.
Trina struggled with the idea of Spencer spending extra time with Esme, but Portia pointed out that as long as Spencer was in Ace Cassadine’s (Jay and Joey Clay) life, then Esme would be in Trina’s.
Trina said she wanted to be with Spencer – or at least she thought she did. Unfortunately, it seemed like Spencer was spending all his time with Esme or dealing with Ace on his own.
Portia pointed out that there was a great big world out there, so she urged Trina not to make it smaller when she didn’t have to.
In Spencer’s bedroom, Esme brought him an ice pack and read medical research off her phone since she feared he might have internal injuries.
Spencer wondered why Esme cared, so she acted like it’d be better to take Spencer to the hospital now than disrupt Ace’s sleep schedule in the middle of the night.
Things were tense as Spencer admitted to starting a fight with Dex, but he softened a bit as Esme explained why she understood.
Esme acknowledged that when she lashed out, people always acted like she was reverting to the person she used to be and confirming their worst suspicions.
Spencer opened up to Esme about how she helped him when he fell in love with her at boarding school, but he insisted she was manipulating him the entire time.
Esme doubted “the Old Esme” could fake their whole relationship, so Spencer remembered a moment that seemed genuine when she was overjoyed over a regifted snow globe for her birthday.
After Esme said she thought “the old Esme” really liked Spencer, she brought up the parenting class idea and got him on board.
As Esme left, she paused on the other side of the door and smiled over the progress she’d made.
In Jordan’s office, she took a call from Zeke Robinson (Gavin Houston) and turned down his dinner invitation.
Curtis showed up soon after to confront Jordan about spilling the kiss news to Portia, but she admitted Zeke was the one who blabbed.
Jordan explained how she mentioned kissing an ex when Zeke was still a stranger to her.
It wasn’t until later that Portia introduced them, so Zeke put it all together and told Portia the truth.
When Zeke showed up, Curtis made it clear that he needed to keep his mouth shut or they’d have a problem.
Zeke acted like he had to tell Portia what happened, but Curtis said this was about Trina too since Zeke warned her to steer clear of him.
Jordan wound up playing referee briefly before Curtis left.
Although Zeke tried to stick around and talk, Jordan had nothing to discuss with him and sent her one-night stand on his way.
At Wyndemere, Ava Jerome (Maura West) shoved Austin Gatlin-Holt (Roger Howarth) away following his kiss, but she quickly pulled him back in as their passion escalated.
Ava ended up sleeping with Austin, but she hurried to find his clothes and keys in the aftermath.
Austin pushed Ava to acknowledge the connection they’d made and didn’t regret what happened, but she was adamant about putting him on the launch home.
Ava also warned that if Austin ever pulled another stunt like he pulled earlier, his body would be the next one she dumped.
Even so, Austin was proud of his bedroom performance and smirked over Ava sleeping well tonight. Ava shut the door on Austin, but she smiled to herself once he was gone.
At Hamilton Finn’s (Michael Easton) place, Violet Finn (Jophielle Love) stopped Elizabeth Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst) from leaving since she was scared following a bad dream.
Liz made Violet some “magic milk” and helped calm her down, so Violet said she liked it when Aunt Elizabeth was there and got Finn to admit he did, too.
Once Violet headed back to bed on Friday’s GH episode, Liz talked about how her boys didn’t need her like they used to.
Finn joked about Elizabeth being welcome to satisfy her “mom urge” with Violet, so Liz acted like she might have to come over all the time – though she quickly added that she was kidding.
Finn offered to make Liz some tea, but she decided she’d better get home. After they said goodnight, Finn looked deep in thought while Liz also seemed pensive in the hallway.
At Sonny Corinthos’ (Maurice Benard) place, he spoke to Sasha Gilmore (Sofia Mattsson) about her future since Gladys Corbin (Bonnie Burroughs) had concerns about her ending the guardianship.
Sasha talked about having good days, so-so days and even bad days that came without warning.
After Sasha admitted it did scare her to think of being on her own again, she wondered if Sonny thought she was wrong to trust herself.
Sonny insisted that Sasha’s honesty proved she was ready since people who said things were great all the time were usually putting on an act.
After Sasha confessed that Sonny made her feel good about her decision, he pointed out that he’d always be there for her and thought Gladys would do the same.
Sasha hugged Sonny as she thanked him for the pep talk.
General Hospital spoilers say Sasha still has to get updates on Gladys’ deception eventually, so stay tuned!
