  •  Christine’s jealousy and lack of a filter may have pushed Kody away, but relationships are complex and both parties bear some responsibility.
  •  Kody’s choice to court and spend time with Robyn while Christine was pregnant was a major source of conflict and hurt for her.
  •  Christine may have had unrealistic expectations for her plural marriage with Kody, wanting a conventional marriage while also being a part of a polygamist family.

Sister Wives star Christine Brown’s letting the world know why she left Kody Brown, and she thinks that he deserves every bit of the blame, but it’s possible that she could have done some things differently. Kody’s often painted as the villain, and he’s definitely made mistakes. However, relationships are complicated, and in most cases, both people bear some responsibility for breakups. In the past, Christine’s fumbled by showing a lot of jealousy. It was a plural marriage, after all. Through that behavior, and for other reasons, she may have pushed Kody away.

On Sister Wives, Christine was once the youngest wife. She entered a spiritual union with Kody after Meri Brown and Janelle Brown did. Back then, Christine might have felt like she’d always be the youngest spouse. She was blindsided when Kody started courting Robyn Brown. Robyn was destined to usurp Christine, unseating her as the most youthful Brown wife. While all the spouses seemed to feel usurped by Robyn, her presence in the family hit Christine the hardest.

Was Christine Too Emotional For Kody?

The issue is the fact that Christine doesn’t have a filter. If she’s feeling something, she won’t hide it. She’s not timid about showing her emotions. Over the years, Kody’s proven that he has very little patience with his wife’s outbursts. Remember when his spouses tried to express themselves, and Kody called them, “princesses?” That could have been a bit of clever deflection on Kody’s part, as he’s actually more prone to “royal” conduct.

Kody’s into the whole patriarchy thing, and that means that he’s the boss. When Christine lashes out, he may feel disrespected. Of all the wives, past and present, Robyn’s temperament is the best match with Kody’s. She cries a lot, but when Robyn isn’t sobbing, she’s a calm presence.

Christine’s the hothead in the family. Janelle’s practical and level-headed, although she did swear at Kody recently on the show. That was probably the byproduct of years of frustration. Meri’s more likely to get sad than angry. Christine showcases the full prism of emotions, and that’s just too much for Kody. Now that Christine has a new man, she possibly finds it easier to be herself. Sometimes, people just aren’t meant to be together, and it can be a blessing when people are brave enough to move on and find happier situations.

Christine seems much happier now, and Kody’s with his “favorite” wife, Robyn. While Christine and Kody likely bear psychological scars, both are better off, and should be grateful for what they have now. However, Robyn wants monogamy, and Kody may find that being married to just one woman isn’t enough for him. For most of his adult life, he’s been a polygamist, and old habits die hard.

Did Christine Let Her Jealousy Get Out Of Control?

Christine is well-acquainted with the green-eyed monster. Her jealousy was inflamed when Kody started spending time with Robyn. While he courted Robyn, he broke some of the Brown family’s rules. He also disappeared a lot, sneaking off to be with his new love interest. The real problem here is the fact that Christine was very pregnant. Of course, she’d want her husband around when she’s preparing to give birth.

Kody may not fully understand women, because going courting while one wife is extremely pregnant is a form of provocation. No woman is going to appreciate that. It’s something he shouldn’t have done, and he paid the price by losing Christine’s unconditional love. After that, she was angry, wary, and bitter.

However, Christine knew what she was getting into. It’s a plural marriage, and that means sister wives, even if they’re new. It seems like Christine always wanted a conventional marriage. Perhaps she once believed that Kody loved her passionately, and considered her his favorite. Then, when Robyn entered the fray, Christine was crushed. That’s sad, but it would have helped if Christine had been more realistic about the situation that she was in. Going into a plural marriage, and then wanting a man all to yourself, is a recipe for heartache. Since she couldn’t make peace with what polygamy is, Christine wasn’t able to be happy.

No one’s trying to put all the blame on Christine. Sister Wives‘ Kody’s been remarkably insensitive. Ultimately, they were just a bad match. Christine is fiery, and if someone can’t operate on that level with her, delivering lots of passion and devotion, she’ll be miserable. Kody’s just not that kind of guy. Robyn’s more delicate, old-fashioned. She’s more his type. However, some of the things that Christine did definitely contributed to her split with Kody. How could they not?
