Sister Wives Power Ranking: Which Wife Will Never Get Back With Kody? (& Who Will)

Three of Kody Brown’s wives left him over a year, but one or more of his exes may want to get back together on the newest season of Sister Wives. In November 2021, Christine Brown left Kody and got a new boyfriend. Christine’s absence made Janelle and Meri fall like dominoes, as Janelle separated from Kody in December 2022 and Meri in January 2023. However, now that Sister Wives season 18 is about to premiere, there’s renewed curiosity about whether any of the women are likely to make amends with patriarch Kody.

The Sister Wives season 18 trailer reveals various dramatic plotlines that may occur among the fractured Brown family. Christine has moved on with her boyfriend, David, and Janelle and Kody get into an explosive fight. Overall, the Brown family appears poised to reckon with the fallout of their plural family, and one wife may cave and return to Kody. Which Sister Wife is most likely to repair her marriage with Kody?

3, Meri Brown- Most Likely

Meri was the last of the three wives to separate from Kody in January 2023, giving the impression she was jumping on the bandwagon. She and Kody have also broken up and were ostensibly estranged for years before giving their marriage another try. Meri’s heartbreaking catfish scandal put extra strain on their relationship. It was a clear sign she wasn’t happy with Kody. While Meri and Kody haven’t been happy together for a long time, she was his first wife, and they have an unexplainable bond that seems to pull them back together even when it seems they’re over for good.

2, Janelle Brown- Somewhat Likely

Janelle engaged in explosive arguments with Kody over the past few seasons, and given the Sister Wives season 18 trailer, she’s likely to have more. Janelle and Kody most seriously butted heads when she confronted him regarding his behavior toward her kids during COVID-19. Due to the pandemic, or more likely, due to his blatant favoritism of Robyn, he stopped visiting the other wives’ homes. Janelle stood up for her children and refused to obey Kody’s wishes.

In an interview with E! News, Janelle revealed she was still grappling with the idea of being separated from Kody. While Christine relishes in saying she’s divorced, Janelle doesn’t like to use that term. When asked if she was ready to date again, she responded, “Oh no, no, no, no, no. No dating. Maybe in 10 years.” While she seems to be moving on, her unwillingness to own her split and explore new relationships still leaves the door open for Kody to win her back.

1, Christine Brown- Not Likely

Christine is done with Kody, and it would be shocking if she chose to return to him. She was the first wife to leave Kody for good, is thrilled to be divorced, and has spoken about how “free” she feels. When Kody seemed to neglect her kids in favor of Robyn’s and didn’t attend Ysabel’s scoliosis surgery, it was the last straw for Christine. She’s never been better since splitting up with Kody, and while she will appear on Sister Wives season 18, Christine is never returning to him.

Kody struggled juggling four marriages during the COVID-19 pandemic, and his inability or lack of desire to engage with households aside from Robyn’s proved to have dire consequences. While there was a previous strain on Kody and Christine’s marriage due to the health problems with their daughter Truely Brown and other factors, his neglect of Christine and Janelle’s families proved to be their downfall. Additionally, his marriage to Meri has been self-described as lacking in romance and platonic for years.

While all three of these marriages are likely over, Meri is most likely to return, as she has often returned after years of strain or separation. Janelle stopped putting effort into her marriage with Kody years ago, and Christine is relishing the freedom of life without Kody and polygamy. It’s uncertain how Kody will relate to his ex-wives on Sister Wives season 18, but it will be fascinating.
