General Hospital (GH) spoilers recap for Monday, July 10, reveals that three shots were fired toward the Metro Court pool, including one that ricocheted and hit Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) in the back.

After Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard) called the incident in, he urged Hamilton Finn (Michael Easton) and Elizabeth Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst) to come with him to the pool area as medical backup.

Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr) got some towels from Jordan Ashford (Tanisha Harper) before frantically applying pressure to Curtis’ wound.

When Liz and Finn showed up, they convinced an emotional Portia to let them take over Curtis’ care.

Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) came out of hiding and said he was ending this, which proved the sniper was gone. That gave the SWAT team a chance to swoop in before Curtis was rushed to GH.

Portia rode along in the ambulance, but Jordan told Zeke Robinson (Gavin Houston) that they needed to stay since they were witnesses to the crime.

Zeke felt their place was at the hospital right now, so Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) agreed to take their statements later since they didn’t see who was behind this.

Once Dante and Chase nailed down which room the shots came from, Dante searched and found the weapon behind the sofa.

However, Dante felt certain it wouldn’t have prints or be traceable. Chase thought this job seemed like it was done by a pro, so Dante said it was maybe even an intelligence op.

After Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton) checked on Chase, she worried to Sonny about how risky her boyfriend’s job was.

Since Dante felt that either Sonny or Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) was the target, they mulled over which one of them was meant to take the hit.

At The Savoy, Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco) and Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn) pushed Kristina Corinthos-Davis (Kate Mansi) to see that she was making a hasty decision to offer herself as Molly Lansing-Davis’ (currently played by Holiday Mia Kriegel) surrogate.

Although Kristina initially defended the idea, she came to realize that Alexis and Sam were right – that she hadn’t fully considered what this would mean for her personally.

Kristina was glad she only made this suggestion to Sam and Alexis, but she didn’t realize Molly had already overheard.

Nearby, a freaked-out Molly told TJ Ashford (Tajh Bellow) about eavesdropping on Kristina’s idea.

TJ agreed with Molly about Kristina making everything about her and said a person could be selfish while still being generous.

After TJ insisted that they’d do things on their terms and own their own timetable, Molly ultimately confessed that Kristina was perhaps the best surrogate option.

Next, Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) went on a picnic with Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) in the park and took the blame for Spencer Cassadine’s (Nicholas Chavez) dislike of Dex Heller (Evan Hofer).

Josslyn felt this was about how poorly she handled her breakup with Cameron Webber (William Lipton) since Spencer was protective of him.

After Josslyn mentioned Spencer signing up for a parenting class with Esme Prince (Avery Pohl), Trina fumed at the thought of them spending extra time together.

Dex joined Trina and Josslyn briefly before getting a phone call about the crisis at the Metro Court pool. When Dex returned to Joss and Trina, he delivered the news about Curtis getting injured.

Once Finn and Elizabeth gave their statements to the police, they went to the park to process what happened. Finn wound up pulling Liz close since she was shaking over the whole ordeal.

At GH, Esme bickered with Spencer, but they managed to find common ground during the parenting class.

Once the class wrapped up, Spencer shared a memory of how he used to sneak out of bed to play videogames.

Since Spencer eventually realized Nikolas Cassadine (last played by Adam Huss) knew and looked the other way, Esme noted that he was sharing something positive about his father for once.

Back with Portia, she was kicked out of the room as Curtis’ medical team started working on him.

Portia let Jordan and Zeke know that Curtis was being prepped for surgery before Trina called.

Since Jordan had taken over the deputy mayor role, she let Zeke know she had to leave to give a press conference on what went down.

Trina ultimately joined Portia before they got updates from Curtis’ doctor, who revealed that Curtis was hit near his spine – and that made his surgery complicated.

While Dex looked after Trina, Josslyn went on the hunt for Spencer and didn’t look pleased over Esme touching his arm in a warm moment.

General Hospital spoilers say Esme and Josslyn have a fierce faceoff coming up, so stay tuned.
