Recalling the super sleuthing days of GH’s Robert and Holly Scorpio.
In the early 1980s, a dashing, adventurous, glamorous married couple swept through an hour-long ABC drama series, solving mysteries and proving that marriage was just the start of romance, not the end of it. He looked dashing in a tuxedo. She sparkled with everything that era had to offer. Their home was equipped with the latest in technology, and they were perfectly content with it just being the two of them…no Rugrats necessary.

Are we talking about Jonathan and Jennifer Hart? Nope. We’re talking about General Hospital’s Robert (Tristan Rogers) and Holly Scorpio. With Emma Samms back in Port Charles, we’re taking a look back at when Mr. and Mrs. Scorpio was daytime’s answer to Hart To Hart.
Robert And Holly: Standing at the Beginning With You
At the start of every Hart to Hart episode, Max, the chauffeur would rasp: This is my boss – Jonathan Hart, a self-made millionaire. He’s quite a guy. This is Mrs. H – she’s gorgeous. She’s one lady who knows how to take care of herself. By the way, my name is Max. I take care of both of them – which ain’t easy; ‘cause when they met, it was murder.
Was Robert a self-made millionaire? Not exactly. But he was no nepo baby, either. He seemed to have worked his way up in the WSB completely on his own merits. Was Holly gorgeous? Yes, yes, she was. Was she a lady who knew how to take care of herself? Indubitably.
They may not have had a chauffeur. Though, as Port Charles’s police commissioner, Robert did hitch a ride or two in a squad car. But when they met, it was murder.

The very first case Holly helped Robert out on was Who Killed Susan Moore? Then there was a hunt for a disc that could blow up the world. Also Aztec treasure. And a dance instructor (played by Brady Bunch alum Barry Williams….yes, Greg Brady went bad) who preyed on aspiring hoofers. They had it all. Just like Bogie and Bacall. And Jonathan and Jennifer Hart. Will they be able to recapture that magic again in 2023? Stay tuned.
