Since 2010, the Browns have graced viewers’ small screens, sharing their lives on Sister Wives, but which season was the best of them all? The patriarch Kody Brown tried his best to display a well-rounded family that just happened to have multiple wives. However, over the years, the polygamous family has become fractured, which has allowed for numerous seasons filled with drama.

For 13 years, Kody’s been trying to convince the world that he had the right equation when it came to his family life. In the beginning, Meri, Janelle, Christine, and even Robyn Brown all seemed content with their roles in the family. At times, the four wives even seemed to get along. However, after a wild move to Las Vegas, the wholesome family seemed to be dealing with some sort of breakdown. Kody couldn’t keep his family together, as the women started bickering with each other and him.

The biggest drama to come out of the three seasons was Meri wanting to buy her family’s old home in Utah, and turn it into a B&B called Lizzie’s Heritage Inn. The Brown family questioned Meri’s motives, with some feeling like she was trying to distance herself from the family. The seasons also show the Browns dealing with the pandemic, which created a lot of tension.

12, Sister Wives Season 1

The series premiere introduced Kody and his three wives, who had 12 children, and then lived in a home with three separate apartments. The show seemed harmless enough, with little really going on. Kody was a happy husband and father who left home every day to go to work. While Janelle and Meri also went into the workforce, Christine stayed home and raised the children. For the first time in 16 years, Kody decided to bring another woman into the mix. While it felt taboo, the women just accepted it.

11, Sister Wives Season 2-3

The family was trying to navigate their escape from Lehi, Utah. Kody and his family traveled to New York City to appear on national television, to show that they weren’t scared of the outdated laws. During this season, the Browns even took a winter break to Wyoming for the holidays.

10 Sister Wives Season 17

The latest season had to be the most cringe-worthy yet, as it was hard to watch a grown man throw tantrums. Christine finally vocalized that she no longer wanted to be a part of their polygamous experiment, and Kody couldn’t handle the news. Fans were elated that Christine had finally found her voice, and Kody was reeling.

9, Sister Wives Season 6

This season was all about the couple’s commitment ceremony to celebrate all four marriages. This was probably one of the last times that the family pretended to be happy. The entire season showed the Browns planning their backyard bash, which included lots of food, and matching burgundy dresses.

8, Sister Wives Season 11-12

These seasons were ma inly based around the Brown children. Ysabel Brown was dealing with major back issues, while Maddie was preparing to welcome her first child. All the older teens were interviewed, and each agreed that they wouldn’t choose polygamy when it was time to marry and create families.

7, Sister Wives Season 5

This season happened to be focused on Meri, as the family toured all four homes in Las Vegas. Until this point, Meri was pretty tame, but her greedy ways started to show when the wives were picking out accessories for their new homes. Kody explained to the cameras that there was a strict budget, letting Meri know that she couldn’t get everything she wanted. Meri was interested in accessing all the amenities, which annoyed her fellow Sister Wives. This made Kody question his relationship.

6, Sister Wives Season 9

Sister Wives season 9 showed Kody in his prime, as he was still in charge of making major family decisions. After finding the perfect cul-de-sac in Las Vegas, the father of 18 decided that it wasn’t enough. He wanted to uproot his children again, and move to Flagstaff, AZ. While the move was shrouded in mystery, TLC viewers finally learned via Gwen Brown that the move was for Dayton Brown, Robyn’s son, as he wanted to go to school in Arizona.

Season 9 also introduced Coyote Pass, and Kody’s dream of living in one big home. Sadly, season 9 also brought heightened drama when Robyn and Kody asked Meri to divorce the patriarch. After many conversations and some guilt-tripping, she agreed. Meri was willing to legally divorce her husband.

5, Sister Wives Season 8

The Brown family was at a major crossroads during Sister Wives season 8, as the children played more prevalent roles within the series. Maddie Brown Brush was planning a wedding, and her sister Mykelti Brown was trying to get her family to accept her new relationship with Tony Padron. No one was a fan of Tony, especially since he would get sassy with the patriarch. Leon Brown was dealing with Meri’s catfishing scandal, and judging her.

4, Sister Wives Season 7

Sister Wives season 7 showed the polygamous-themed Shark Tank. The family, led by Robyn, had an idea to make jewelry and sell it under the name, My Sister Wifes Closest. However, none of them had business experience. What was shown was all five Browns floundering during an investor’s meeting.

3, Sister Wives Season 4

Season 4 had the Browns living in separate homes across Sin City as their new ones were being built. This Sister Wives episode showed Robyn pregnant. The fourth wife of Kody also made an offer that Meri could refuse, when she told the mother of one that she’d happily act as a surrogate for her. Season 4 was all about Robyn, as this was the season when she had her sex talk, which was hard to watch. She shared how she lost her virginity, calling her son a mistake.

2, Sister Wives Season 10

Meri’s fallout was quick after her catfishing scandal. This season showed Kody and Meri sitting down to talk to a therapist. It was clear that nothing was going to change on Kody’s end, and he was just placating his first wife. Sadly, Meri really seemed to be trying to save her marriage.

1, Sister Wives Season 16

Christine had proclaimed her freedom, and she wasn’t looking back. No one could change the mother of six’s mind, as she was over Kody. The Sister Wives star packed her bags, sold her home, and calmly told the rest of the family. Some of the best moments were watching Robyn pretend to cry while Christine just waited for the charade to be over.
