General Hospital Spoilers: Spencer Falls Back In Love with Esme – Trina Loses Her Man?

General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Alexander Chavez) could find himself caught up in Esme Prince’s (Avery Pohl) twisted web again. It’s easy to see that Esme is working to pull Spencer closer – though she has a different agenda this time around.

Back when Esme and Spencer were in boarding school together, Esme was working to win him over on Ryan Chamberlain’s (Jon Lindstrom) orders.

Spencer was understandably hurt and furious when he found out his first love had been using him the whole time.

However, Esme offered a new perspective in the June 30 episode. Although Esme has amnesia and can’t remember her past, she doubted that the old version of her had really faked the entire relationship.

Even Spencer thought back to Esme preferring his regifted cheesy snow globe instead of the expensive jewelry he got her for her birthday.

There were some seemingly genuine smiles shared between Spencer and Esme, so what does all this bonding mean?

Spencer is always going to have certain flaws that are tough for him to overcome – like his hot temper, impulsiveness and sense of entitlement.

Esme has always had some of the same flaws, which is why Spencer found them so compatible at boarding school.

Spencer also saw another side of Esme and related to her difficult past. Even if Spencer doubts that their romance was real now, Esme made Spencer feel seen and heard when he had no one else to connect with.

Of course, we know that Spencer ultimately came back to Port Charles and made an even deeper connection to Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali), but real love takes commitment and work.

Although Spencer and Trina fell hard for each other, that’s only the first part of a love story. Two people have to be willing to put in the effort and get past the speed bumps that inevitably land in their path.

Spencer is feeling a lot of pressure to be good enough for Trina – and that’s pressure that he doesn’t feel with Esme since she’s the one who’s got so much to make up for.

Esme opened up to Spencer about feeling judged when she’s just trying to do the right thing. People expect the worst of Esme, so Spencer seemed to relate to having good intentions while being seen as the same old screwup.

Now that Spencer is vulnerable and struggling to be understood, Esme sees her opportunity to swoop in and is taking advantage of it!

GH spoilers say Esme will keep it up in the coming weeks, so we have to consider what this could lead to. Will Spencer fall back in love with Esme – or at least convince himself that’s what’s happening?

Trina could lose her man to her worst enemy if Spencer lets himself get pulled too far in Esme’s direction. Spencer may cross the line with Esme and break “Sprina” like never before.

Based on Esme’s latest scenes with Spencer, it looks like she’d like to create a real family with him.

Esme may start imagining a picture-perfect world where Spencer loves her and happily slides in the father figure role for Ace Cassadine (Jay and Joey Clay).

Even if Esme doesn’t get her wish, she could stir up plenty of drama and blow up Spencer’s relationship with Trina.
