Maura West spoke at Coastal Entertainment Zoom event. While being in the conversation, She opened up about Port Charles’ unlikely best friends. West revealed that it would have been difficult if Michelle played Nina. Even if it’s the same character, the portrayer plays a major role. Speaking of which, she said Watros made it easy for her as she gives different energy and vibe. The actress described principle behind Ava and Nina’s friendship.
West described that even if Ava and Nina started off as partners, their common stories brought them together. West added that they both are frightened, has a past filled with loss and betrayal on General Hospital. Hence, Ava and Nina came together to help each other get through the sorrows. So, West says Ava found a good friend even on screen. Of course, Maura West and Cynthia Watros are friends in real life too.
It is thrilling to work with someone whom you’ve already have connection with in real life. The two women attended Boston University together. Well, not really together. Maura explained that she was a couple of years junior to Watros. When Watros was getting her acting degree, West was just a kid. Therefore, West shared that even if she had to play complicated characters, she’d be happy to play them if its with Watros. Referring to Watros, she told her fans that Watros is her goddess!
