Sister Wives: 5 Reasons Gwen Brown Is The Bravest Sibling

Kody and Christine Brown’s daughter, Gwendlyn Brown, has always been the superhero of her large polygamous family over the years leaving fans wowed.

Like most Sister Wives viewers, Gwen Brown is not a fan of Kody’s fourth and favorite, wife Robyn. For over 17 seasons, no one in the Brown family would openly talk about their dislike for Robyn, who came into the family as a surprise to most during season 1. Kody initially told his first three wives that he was done courting but blindsided them all when he introduced Robyn. However, after ten years of pretending to like one another, the Browns started to turn.

Gwen was the most upfront about her disdain for Robyn. Even though her mother, Christine, shared her frustrations with having three in a marriage, Gwen got down to the brass tacks. In her YouTube video, Gwen shared that she honestly did not like Robyn “as a person.” The latest season didn’t help Robyn’s standing with Gwen as she felt Kody’s fourth wife was extremely manipulative. Sister Wives fans rejoiced as, finally, a Brown family member was expressing how they really felt instead of trying to pretend that everything was okay, with Gwen confirming Robyn was “worse in person.”

3, Gwen Doesn’t Interact With Paedon

The entire Brown family was raised as a close unit; however, along the way, there have been some issues among the Brown siblings. Sadly for Gwen, she and her brother Paedon are no longer on speaking terms after a violent incident took place. This past year, Paedon shared what went down between him and his younger sister, telling his followers that he once slapped Gwen across the face. Due to his aggression, Gwen now doesn’t speak to her brother and fears him. The aspiring firefighter shared with Sister Wives

viewers that the slap occurred after a heated exchange.

As Sister Wives viewers have noticed, Gwen and Paedon’s relationship has never recovered after the physical altercation. Christine even shared in an episode that she wouldn’t leave Paedon alone with her daughters. While Paedon has tried to set the story straight, Gwen still hasn’t spoken out to share her side of the story, but it is clear to fans that she has drawn some clear lines in the sand. In a recent post about her engagement party, all her sisters were in attendance, but Paedon wasn’t invited. Sister Wives followers felt that Gwen was courageous for putting her foot down.

2, Gwen Chooses Christine

Even though Gwen shared that she would not take sides in her parent’s divorce, she has clearly stood strong with her mother. Fans noted that Kody gave his daughter no other option but to choose Christine in the separation because he kept ignoring his kids. Gwen has openly talked about “disliking” Kody, mainly for how he spoke about her mother in the recent season. While Kody is kind to her now, that wasn’t always the case. Even Gwen’s fiancée, Beatriz, shared that she hasn’t been thrilled with how the patriarch talks to some of his family members. It feels as if Gwen has distanced herself from Kody, which is a courageous step for many.

1, Gwen Comes Out As Bisexual

Gwen came out as bisexual during the worldwide pandemic and seemed to have the support of her family. However, Sister Wives fans learned that not everyone was behind her. Evidently, Robyn tried to convince Gwen to share the news on the family show, and producers encouraged it. During another YouTube video, Gwen revealed that she was mad TLC blindsided her, as she believed they were going to talk about her parent’s divorce. Instead, producers told Gwen sexuality was up for discussion.

As Sister Fans fans know, Gwen has been a big proponent of the LGBTQ+ community and revealed to fans that she felt cornered. The last thing Gwen wanted was to make her truth a spectacle, so she put her foot down. Gwen blasted TLC for latching onto the fact that they had “another queer” within the polygamous family. Viewers could see that Gwen firmly stood up for herself and wasn’t about the let herself be exploited for the sake of ratings. In the same video, Gwen also shared that she was asked to speak out about her autism diagnosis, but she shut that conversation down, too.
