General Hospital (GH) spoilers recap for Friday, July 28, reveals that Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) and Laura Collins (Genie Francis) found the house they were looking for in Chechnya, but they were quickly cornered by the armed new owner.

After Laura and Valentin explained that they were looking for Nikolas Cassadine (last played by Adam Huss), the guy spit over the Cassadine name and acted like that family was nothing but trouble.

Laura was desperate to find her son, but the man felt that Nikolas had left her and couldn’t offer any information.

Although Laura thought it was more likely that Nikolas was being held against his will, Valentin felt there were no answers to be found at that location and suggested they should get back to the hotel.

Meanwhile, Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) took Charlotte Cassadine (Scarlett Fernandez) to visit comatose Lulu Spencer (last played by Emme Rylan), so they both offered updates on everything she was missing out on.

Dante told Lulu that he missed her before giving Charlotte a moment alone with her mother.

As Charlotte thought about the other girls their age hanging out with their moms, she cried and begged Lulu to wake up.

On the way out with Dante, Charlotte mentioned how sad their old house looked all empty and suggested Lulu would want someone to live there.

At Molly Lansing-Davis’ (Brooke Anne Smith) apartment, Kristina Corinthos-Davis (Kate Mansi) showed up to support her after her accident and brought Valiant the stuffed horse.

Molly was thrilled since she hadn’t seen Valiant in forever, so Kristina explained how she found him mixed in with a box of law books by mistake.

That led to some stories from Molly and Kristina’s childhood, so Kristina felt she’d made things harder than necessary for Molly. However, Molly didn’t see it that way and was grateful to know Kristina always had her back.

Talk eventually turned to Keifer Bauer, the abusive boyfriend Kristina once had. Molly wished that she’d fought harder to get Kristina to open up back then, but Kristina insisted it wasn’t her sister’s fault.

Kristina also felt like maybe that was the turning point in her life when things got off track.

Once Kristina expressed doubt about being able to help the kids at the youth center, Molly had faith in her and told her to believe in herself.

Next, Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) visited Michael Corinthos’ (Chad Duell) office to ask if Dex Heller (Evan Hofer) had offered up any news on Sonny.

Michael filled Carly in on Sonny’s surprising decision to have Dex report the body he found to the cops.

Carly could tell that part of Michael liked this Dex arrangement since it allowed him to protect Sonny.

Although Michael couldn’t forgive the past, he admitted part of him still cared about his father. Carly said she’d take that as a win and pulled Michael into a hug.

When Nina tried to reach out to Sonny over the phone, he had to disconnect abruptly since Ava Jerome (Maura West) arrived hopping mad.

Ava complained about Avery Corinthos (Ava and Grace Scarola) being off with Betty Rutherford (Ella Lentini), so she wondered if this was really Sonny’s idea of handling it!

However, Sonny thought Betty was the best person to lead them to Mason Gatlin’s (Nathanyael Grey) boss.

Sonny also made it clear that their daughter wasn’t in any danger – and at the Metro Court, fans ultimately saw that Dex was discreetly spying on Betty and Avery.

Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) pointed out that Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) was nearby when she arrived and found Dex, but he told her that he was working.

Meanwhile, Josslyn greeted Avery and found out she had a new nanny. Once Josslyn met Betty and introduced herself as Avery’s sister, Betty acted like she wasn’t a real one.

Nevertheless, Josslyn got Avery to back her up on the big sister thing and suggested she could draw a family tree diagram for Betty.

After Betty said that wasn’t necessary, Josslyn hinted that she wouldn’t be around long enough to need to memorize names anyway.

Once Betty and Avery left, Dex tailed them while Trina joined Josslyn. That led to Trina telling Josslyn about Dex’s apparent work assignment.

Trina also admitted to Josslyn that she missed Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Alexander Chavez), but she was wary of spending time with him and adding to Portia Robinson’s (Brook Kerr) stress.

On Friday’s GH episode, Josslyn gave Trina a nudge to contact Spencer anyway since she clearly needed him right now.

At home, Esme Prince (Avery Pohl) worried since Laura hadn’t been in touch with Spencer and asked if he thought it was a bad sign.

Spencer snapped at Esme before apologizing since he was stressed over both Laura’s situation and Trina’s latest ordeal with Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner).

Esme suggested Spencer should call Trina and let her know that he was thinking about her, but Spencer explained it was complicated due to Portia’s disapproval of him.

After Esme announced that she was taking Ace Cassadine (Jay and Joey Clay) to the park after his nap, Spencer suggested they could take him to the pool together instead.

Esme was pleased, but Trina’s arrival quickly derailed the new plan.

Trina fell into Spencer’s comforting embrace and eventually acknowledged that it was best to keep their relationship lowkey right now because of Portia.

Spencer understood, but he let Trina know that he’d always be there for her before leaning in for a kiss.

Upstairs, Esme told Ace that they’d be on their own at the park after all. After Esme guessed that Trina was more important to Spencer, she told Ace that they only had each other.

Moments later, the wheels started turning for Esme, who hinted about perhaps taking drastic steps to change that.

Once Nina arrived at Michael’s office for a visit, she asked if they could make peace for Willow Corinthos’ (Katelyn MacMullen) sake and got his usual attitude.

Kristina showed up and caught Michael being rude to Nina, so she privately asked why he had to be such a “bastard” to her.

Back at Sonny’s office, he played nice with Betty and sent her home until morning. Sonny felt that Betty bought his act and kept trying to convince Ava that his plan would work.

When Carly showed up at Sonny’s request, she seemed suspicious over his meeting with Ava.

Likewise, Ava was uneasy about Carly’s involvement since Sonny called her on short notice to take Avery for a sleepover.

Sonny privately told Ava that he wouldn’t tell Carly anything about Nikolas unless he had to, but that didn’t do much to ease Ava’s mind!

When Dex met back up with Josslyn, he told her about being ordered to watch over Betty and Avery. Dex didn’t know the details, but he suspected this had something to do with Ava.

General Hospital spoilers say Sonny may have more info for Dex later, so stay tuned to watch this exciting storyline heat up.
