General Hospital Spoilers: Sonny & Anna Pass Chemistry Test – Will GH Kick Off Surprising New Romance?

General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that ever since Anna Devane’s (Finola Hughes) shady past was exposed, she’s been feeling a little lost. Fortunately, Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) has stepped up to make sure Anna doesn’t feel alone while Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) is out of town.

Of course, Anna and Sonny have another reason to bond since either one of them could’ve been the target at the Metro Court pool.

The mystery has led to plenty of Sonny and Anna scenes lately – including the heartfelt ones in the July 31 episode.

There’s no denying that Maurice Benard and Finola Hughes work well together.

These two are excellent scene partners who have been acting for many years, so they bring a lot of talent to the table.

Although Anna and Sonny are great as friends, some might argue that they pass the romantic chemistry test, too.

Sonny and Anna’s personalities really mesh, especially now that Anna’s dealing with her problematic history coming to light.

Anna even confessed that she admired the way Sonny got away with his crimes and managed to compartmentalize his life.

There’s a sweet bond between Sonny and Anna that works despite any differences they’ve faced over the years.

With all that in mind, will GH writers kick off a surprising new romance? Could they capitalize on Anna and Sonny’s chemistry by pairing them up?

It might be an interesting option to consider, especially since Sonny’s relationship with Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) seems to be on the verge of blowing up.

Sonny will be furious once he finds out Nina snitched to the SEC. Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) had to pay a $5 million fine while Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) landed in Pentonville for three years, so Sonny will blame Nina eventually.

The fact that Nina lied to Sonny repeatedly will make things even worse. Sonny and Nina are probably going to face a breakup once the truth comes out, so the mob boss may find himself single.

Likewise, Valentin has been off helping Laura Collins (Genie Francis) in Chechnya instead of making Anna a priority.

There’s room for Anna to fall for someone else – someone like Sonny depending on where the storyline goes from here.
