‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) Finally Gets REAL With Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr)
‘General Hospital’ (GH) spoilers reveals that Curtis Ashford’s (Donnell Turner) prognosis is a difficult one to deal with emotionally. It is hard to hear terrible medical news that could affect the rest of his life, but it also seems to be allowing him to openly share his feelings for the first time.
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Difficult Prognosis
A shot fired at the Metro Court pool ricocheted off the wall and hit Curtis Ashford in the back. Doctors had to perform a dangerous surgery to save him, and he almost didn’t make it back. In fact, he had a near death experience which indicated how precarious his situation was.
When he came to after surgery, the doctors tested his responses. While he could feel sensations in his upper body and can move his arms, he has not been able to feel anything in his legs. This means he probably will be paralyzed and most often patients with this type of injury never walk again.
This is difficult for Curtis to hear. He is really angry and probably feels like he should not have fought back if his future would be as a paralytic. It is going to take him a while to learn to accept this news.
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Getting Honest
When Curtis’ wife, Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr) discusses their future together, Curtis gets angry. He says that she should just let him go. She believes that this is just his emotional response to his situation and that he will get over it. She contends that they need to be a family and she knows now how much she really loves him.
At this, Curtis gets really honest with her. He doesn’t want her pity. He sees that pity in her response about loving him now, because she wasn’t loving when he was wrestling with the surprise news that he is Trina Robinson’s (Tabyana Ali) father or when she confronted him about the kiss with Jordan Ashford (Tanisha Harper).
Her affection and love just get dialed up now because of what he is facing, and he doesn’t want that.
He is also really angry about the secret she kept from him for so long. She deprived him of valuable time with his daughter and now he feels like he doesn’t have the future that he hoped for with Trina. He isn’t interested in his daughter having to care for him. He should be taking care of her.
While this is a prideful response, it is true that Portia did a pretty vile thing. He didn’t get to experience raising his daughter and she is responsible for that.
