Sister Wives star Janelle Brown slams ex-husband for ‘manipulating’ her in latest clip

In an Instagram post for the new season of Sister Wives on TLC, Janelle slams her ex-husband Kody for how he treated her, calling him 'manipulative' and saying he 'pushed her out the door'

Janelle Brown calls out her ex-husband Kody in the latest teaser for the newest season of TLC’s Sister Wives.

The show’s network, TLC, posted a clip on its Instagram teasing the verbal altercation, captioning it that the new season of the show premieres on August 20. It will be the 18th season of the show that centres around the polygamist family of Kody Brown and his wives.

Janelle was “spiritually” married to Kody from 1993 to 2022. “You are now pushing me out the door,” She said to Kody in the clip. He responded: “That’s an exaggeration and a lie.”

“I think you’re manipulating,” Janelle said, to which Kody repeatedly said no as he stormed out of the room. “F**k you,” Janelle yelled after him.

In the previous season, tensions ran high between the two. Janelle moved into an RV and claimed she didn’t know if she wanted to “do the work” to salvage her 29-year marriage to Kody. She also mentioned her children have a “general disgruntlement” with Kody because he barely spends time with them. Together, Kody and Janelle have six children – Logan, Maddie, Hunter, Garrison, Gabriel, and Savanah. Maddie married Caleb Brush in 2016, eventually giving Kody and Janelle three grandchildren.

One person commented on the Instagram video: “Can’t wait to hear Janelle stand up for herself!” and included various hand clapping emojis. Another said they loved Janelle’s “strength” while a different account commented: “I’m so proud of the women for having the courage and strength to leave such toxic and verbally abusive marriages.”

When the show first aired, Kody had four wives: Meri Brown, Janelle, Christine Brown, and Robyn Brown. He was only legally married to Meri, who he wed in 1990, but then added Janelle to the family three years later. A year after Janelle, Christine joined, and then Robyn in 2010, months before the show aired.

Christine was the first wife to break up with Kody in 2021 after he didn’t attend their daughter Ysabel’s surgery to correct her scoliosis. She claimed this was the “final straw” in an already strained relationship. Currently, Robyn is the only sister wife left after Kody’s relationship with Meri ended in January 2023.
