  • Robyn’s tears and emotional outbursts about feeling like an outsider on Sister Wives are insincere, as she is actually isolating herself and her children from the rest of Kody’s family.
  •  Despite portraying herself as the caring wife on the show, Robyn’s actions and conflicting statements, such as her recent desire for monogamy, raise questions about her sincerity.
  •  Throughout her time on Sister Wives, Robyn has exhibited a lack of sincerity, often contradicting herself and appearing hypocritical in her behavior towards her fellow wives.

Sister Wives season 18 has featured Robyn Brown’s opinions about the state of the Brown family, which have caused some to believe she’s faking her emotions about the fractured relationships. While Robyn has always been the center of attention for her husband, Kody Brown, it’s become more clear through the years that his newest wife is also his favorite of his spouses. Christine Brown, who left Kody in 2021 after nearly 30 years of marriage, has cited Kody’s favoritism of Robyn as one of the reasons she couldn’t continue in their relationship, and Janelle Brown and Meri Brown have also taken notice of her special treatment through the years.

For Robyn, exposing her true nature on reality TV has been a part of her life for over a decade, but she still comes off duplicitous when she tries to be honest with the cameras. During a segment of Sister Wives season 18 where she was opening up about the state of her family, Robyn tearfully explained that she was feeling hurt by the alienation she has been experiencing. With Robyn positioned as the favorite while her children have been accepted into Kody’s family somewhat seamlessly, it’s baffling to see her breadth of emotions, especially since she feels slighted.

She May Be Crying Crocodile Tears

Although Robyn was tearfully sharing about feeling like an “outsider” on Sister Wives season 18 episode 2, it was clear that she was hardly the victim at the end of the day. Robyn explained that she feels bad for her children when it comes to the current state of the family, as they feel like the other wives and siblings are alienating them. In reality, Kody and Robyn are isolating themselves from the rest of Kody’s family, but the way Robyn views it, no one cares enough to cater to her or her needs. Her tears surrounding the so-called drama are, in essence, entirely her own fault.

Though she was able to take qualities from her Sister Wives in order to adapt and make herself desirable to Kody, Robyn has always played the role of the caring wife, even before her marriage was legal. She has made sure it’s clear that she’s Kody’s favorite wife throughout her time with the family, always sitting next to him and choosing to spend the pandemic with him. The way she reacts on camera, however, bursting into tears over the state of the family, contradicts many of the things we hear Robyn say outside the show, like her recent desire for monogamy.

Is Robyn Ever Sincere?

As Robyn has been shown throughout the run of Sister Wives, many have noticed a lack of sincerity from her behavior. Whether it’s because she’s contradicting herself by saying she wants monogamy now when she’s been heavily invested in plural marriage in the past, or her simply acting like she cares about her fellow Sister Wives when she’s pushed them out of the picture entirely, it’s obvious Robyn says one thing and often practices another. With Sister Wives season 18 just getting started, Robyn’s likely going to look like a hypocrite throughout the season.

Sister Wives season 18 airs Sundays at 10 p.m. EST on TLC.
