Sonny needs a wife who understands what his business entails. Carly’s recent scene where she gave Nina a pep talk was telling. She advised Nina to “lay low” and not attract attention since the Feds have detained Sonny.

Nina needs a wake-up call as far as Sonny is concerned. Sonny’s business will always be a factor in any relationship he has, and Nina should understand this.

After all, Carly knows the ins and outs of the mob, thanks to Nina not telling Sonny’s family that he was alive.

Carly and Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) were the ones who stepped up for the family when Sonny was with Nina in Nixon Falls.

Carly instinctively knew to destroy the flash drive with all the incriminating evidence, even though Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) and Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) protested.

Carly knows Sonny is in trouble, which means the family is in trouble. She destroyed the evidence because she is a realist.

She knows that ultimately, Sonny protects his family, and his being in prison could result in someone in the family being dead.

This danger is why Carly has Dex Heller (Evan Hofer) protecting Sonny. Mama Bear Carly needs to keep the family safe.

Nina has her head in the clouds regarding what it means to be Sonny’s wife. She has no idea what she is in for. Nina wants to believe that the real Sonny is the person she fell in love with in Nixon Falls.

Fans know that when it comes to Sonny, he is not that simple. Sonny is a complex man, full of contradictions. He is a man who will, above all else, put his family first.

Nina put his family in jeopardy when she ratted out Carly to the SEC. Carly is the mother of his children. He will protect her before he protects Nina.

She has illusions about the relationship between the two of them. When the truth comes out about what Nina did, Sonny will be furious.

When Sonny realizes Carly has been his ride-or-die loyal ex-wife, he will remember what he once had with her, especially when he learns of Nina’s betrayal. Nina will never be able to compare.

Longtime fans know that Sonny will always reunite with Carly. The two share not just kids, but they are a team. They have a special connection.

Not only did Nina put the mother of Sonny’s kids in harm’s way, but she also opened up a portal in which Sonny could have been vulnerable to investigation.

It may be that Nina inadvertently led the Feds straight to Sonny. We still don’t know who turned Sonny in; it could have been the result of what Nina did somehow.

Nina’s deception might lead Sonny back to Carly and spark a Carson reunion.
