Sister Wives star Kody Brown has been spending the season dwelling on his relationship with Christine Brown, offering some revisionist history about the nature of their marriage. Sister Wives season 18 has brought up many questions surrounding Kody and Christine’s time together. The pair was married from 1994 until 2021, and in their marriage, the couple welcomed six children. Christine chose to leave Kody after years of turmoil in 2021, but the patriarch of the Brown family took her decision with a lot of difficulty. His emotions spilled into his other relationships, where Kody ended up having to ensure his other marriages didn’t fall privy to his tantrums.

Sister Wives fans are clocking the fact that Kody has spent the majority of Sister Wives season 18 spouting some interesting stories about his time with Christine, most of which seem to be false in nature. Reddit user Ifonlies andjusts

first posed the question, “Kody says Christine ‘forced her way into the family’ and that he never wanted her. Does anyone think there’s some truth to this?” Others chimed in, including Pot_Flashback1248, who shared, “So, Kody is a victim? Christine made him marry her?” Viewers agreed that Kody is “rewriting history” in a way that doesn’t add up to what they’ve seen on Sister Wives.

Sister Wives’ Kody Brown Constantly Plays The Victim Card

Kody’s victim mentality isn’t a new part of Sister Wives, but the level of self-victimization he’s played into since Christine’s departure has reached an all-new high. Kody, who always tries to paint himself as doing the right thing, has done his best to make Christine seem like she’s making the wrong choice by leaving him. On Practical_Audience69‘s Reddit thread, BlueButtons07 explained, “Him saying that stuff, is exactly why Christine left…Even if he is scraping the bottom of the barrel to ‘get back at her’ for leaving. It’s plain cruel.” Kody has been cruel about Christine, claiming he was never attracted to her and felt pressure to marry her.

While Kody’s ideas may have some sort of merit in his own mind, viewers have seen a very different story playing out on Sister Wives throughout the years. Early in the series’ run, there was a version of Kody who was infatuated with Christine. Even over a decade into their marriage, they seemed to be in love and happy together. When Kody met Robyn, his other relationships took a backseat as he made a clear shift in his priorities. Christine was never put first, which is one of the main reasons she chose to leave their marriage.

For Sister Wives fans, understanding that Kody has chosen to rewrite history regarding his relationship with Christine isn’t a shocking development. Kody has been known to shift narratives to make himself look like the victim while also trying to strong-arm himself into being the hero. While Kody’s perception of events is his own, Sister Wives viewers understand that the reality of events has been aired on the series throughout its duration.
