General Hospital Recap: Tuesday, May 30 – Michael Reacts to Sonny’s Engagement – Drew Turns Down Sam’s Offer
General Hospital (GH) spoilers recap for Tuesday, May 30, reveals that Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Chavez) spoke to Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) over the phone before turning his attention to Victor Cassadine’s (Charles Shaughnessy) will reading.
Victor’s attorney served as the executor of the estate and had a video to play from the deceased. For starters, Ava Jerome (Maura West) received a rendering of her “first true love,” which was a gargoyle.
Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn) got some nesting dolls and was told to pass along tarot cards for Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco) in hopes that she might finally be lucky in love.
Charlotte Cassadine (AnaSofia Bianchi) wasn’t present, but Victor said she’d receive a necklace with a pendant that featured the Cassadine crest.
Martin Grey (Michael E. Knight) was there as Valentin Cassadine’s (James Patrick Stuart) proxy, so he accepted the last surviving piece of a rare statue: a middle finger.
Although Victor wasn’t there to explain his gift to Spencer in person, he trusted that Spencer would know what to do. Spencer looked at a small box as he prepared to learn more.
At Portia Robinson’s (Brook Kerr) place, she welcomed Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) home.
Marshall Ashford (Robert Gossett) made a special dinner for two, but he expanded it to all of them once Stella Henry (Vernee Watson) showed up and cleared the air.
After Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) left Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) an encouraging voicemail, Sam brought Scout Cain (Cosette Abinante) over for a sleepover.
Drew gave Scout a harmonica that belonged to Oscar Nero Quartermaine (Garren Stitt), so she dashed outside to play it for the birds.
That gave Sam a chance to quiz Drew about the insider trading drama and how she might help.
Sam found out Drew needed to dig up leverage to use against Ned Quartermaine (Wally Kurth) and argued it was right in her wheelhouse, but Drew turned her down since her hands needed to stay clean.
At the Metro Court, Diane Miller (Carolyn Hennesy) fished for information on Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) and the feds during her conversation with Robert Scorpio (Tristan Rogers).
Robert wound up steering the discussion to Holly Sutton’s (Emma Samms) decision to leave town and help her son out of some trouble.
Diane assumed Holly would be back, but Robert didn’t think he’d be a factor if she came home.
Nearby, Olivia Quartermaine (Lisa LoCicero) suggested there had to be a way to keep Sonny from taking the fall, so Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) hoped that she was right.
However, Nina assumed that meant Carly or Drew would have to take the fall instead.
When Nina wondered if Drew or Carly might turn against each other to save themselves, Olivia shut down the idea.
Nina eventually pressured Olivia to go see what she could find out from Robert, so Olivia sauntered over.
Once Olivia interrupted Robert’s chat with Diane, she asked if there was a potential deal on the table involving Sonny’s takedown.
Diane pointed out that if Robert stayed silent that’d be all the confirmation they needed.
After Robert walked off, Diane told Olivia that she got her answer.
When Diane rejoined Robert by the bar, he seemed irritated over her pumping him for info earlier and said they should put it on the books next time.
At GH, Sonny privately spoke to Carly about Diane and her fishing expedition with Robert.
Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) walked over and grew curious over what the exes were talking about, so Sonny said he was engaged to Nina.
After Michael admitted he wasn’t surprised over Sonny and Nina taking the next step, he confirmed that the agreement he previously made with Sonny would hold firm.
Once Sonny left, Michael quizzed Carly about whether she’d been talking about something besides the engagement.
Carly confessed that she’d probably be offered a deal where they’d forget the insider trading charges if she gave evidence against Sonny.
Meanwhile, Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) gave Trina updates on Willow Corinthos’ (Katelyn MacMullen) procedure and learned Trina’s DNA results were about to come in.
Trina also mentioned having to move out of the dorm for the summer and not wanting to move back home.
Josslyn suggested Trina could come stay with her at Carly’s place and acted like she could handle Spencer being around.
Trina worried about the feud between Spencer and Dex Heller (Evan Hofer), which resulted in Dex dodging a punch and giving Spencer a cut lip recently.
Josslyn chuckled a bit over Dex defending himself and acted like he had more important things to worry about than Spencer right now.
That left Trina curious, but Joss just acted like working for Sonny was a high-pressure job.
Once Josslyn took off, Trina received news about the DNA results being in, so she phoned Curtis and let him know, too.
Curtis quickly brought Portia, Marshall and Stella in the loop.
When Olivia returned to the Quartermaine mansion, she warned Drew that if he wanted to stick around for Scout, she had some information that he needed.
Back with Sonny, he spoke to Nina over the phone about Michael’s reaction to the engagement and took it as a positive sign since he wasn’t hostile.
It gave Sonny hope that Willow might find room in her heart for Nina one day.
As for Michael, he questioned Carly about whether she’d accept a potential deal to take Sonny down.
Carly refused, but Michael acted like she should take advantage of her chance to go free.
After Josslyn overheard the end of that conversation, she asked what Carly was waiting for and urged her mom to accept the deal.
General Hospital spoilers say Carly and Josslyn will have a heated argument about this soon enough, so stay tuned!
