Sister Wives stars Kody and Christine Brown don’t seem to be on the best of terms in 2023.
Although Season 18 picks up just after their split in 2021, it seems like the exes tried to stay amicable for a while at least. There is one particular scene in the new trailer that reveals Kody and Christine have a face-to-face interaction to hash out their divorce.
Christine seems unbothered by the situation while Kody is about to have another meltdown. Will they be able to get through their discussion peacefully?
Christine and Kody reflect on their marriage in Sister Wives Season 18
Based on the Sister Wives Season 18 trailer, the upcoming season will center around Janelle as she breaks free from polygamy. But even so, it seems like Christine will still have plenty of screen time. Clips reveal she will help Janelle navigate her decision to leave Kody.
But that’s not all; Christine and Kody will also apparently go to dinner to discuss some issues. It’s not immediately clear what prompted the dinner, but it looks as if the two are seeking closure for their marriage.
It’s not immediately clear how long Kody and Christine have been divorced based on the footage alone. However, Christine seems completely fine and at ease with the situation.
“If you can’t look back with a sense of humor, what a waste,” Christine tells her ex-husband during their meeting. Kody immediately looks down, clearly disagreeing with her statement. He seems completely wounded that his ex-wife is doing fine without him.
“Well I’m not laughing,” Kody says after the camera cuts to his confessional. “I’m not laughing here. I’m not laughing, I haven’t been laughing with her leaving.”
“Christine leaving was definitely the hardest hit to the family. SHE was the family,” one fan wrote in the comments on YouTube.
“The world collectively threw their arms up and cheered for Janelle in the last 12 seconds 🙌 ” another added. “Christine led the uprising, but baby, Janelle and her kids are about to bring it home for all of us!!! 🎉”

For years, Sister Wives fans watched in horror as Kody Brown treated his wives horrendously. And yet, he seemed completely taken aback when they decided to leave.
After everything that has happened, most viewers don’t think that Kody can really be so shocked. It will be interesting to see how Season 18 plays out as Kody realizes that he’s about to lose two more wives.
