‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) And Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) Share An Emotional Goodbye
‘General Hospital’ (GH) spoilers reveals that Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) and Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) are going to have a difficult three-year separation. Drew’s sacrifice for is an admirable thing, but is Carly going to be able to live with it? What other damage will be done because he made this choice?
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Bad Choice
GH’s Drew found out about a possible merger and Carly did insider trading based on that information. The merger didn’t happen, and they didn’t make any money from the deal.
However, Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) made an anonymous tip to the SEC that they were involved in illegal insider trading. Nina’s motive was probably to punish Carly, her fiancé Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) ex-wife.
When the feds investigate, there is a lot of pressure put on Carly to turn over evidence about Sonny. If she will do that, then she could be free of the charges. She refuses though. She won’t take action against Sonny.
Drew decides that he will take the fall for both of them so that she won’t get any prison time. The work out a plea deal where he can pay a fine and get six months in a minimum-security facility.
The judge has a different idea. He doesn’t believe that Drew should be able to walk away with such a slight slap on the wrist. He considers a maximum sentence for him, but Zeke Robinson (Gavin Houston) argues that his client has no record, has never been involved in financial crimes, and the trading did not even result in a net gain for anyone because the merger didn’t occur.
The judge says there was still intent, so he sentences Drew to three years in a maximum-security facility.
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Torn Up
Carly is really torn up about this. She doesn’t think it is right for Drew to be going to prison for something he did not even do. It is also a long time and at a maximum-security facility, which is not very safe. Drew can handle himself, but it is going to be very challenging.
Drew says he would not be able to live with himself if he made any other choice because he loves her. He doesn’t want her to go to prison and leave her daughter alone.
But Drew is making a significant choice to be away from his daughter, Scout Cain (Cosette Abinante) for quite a long time. He felt that he could survive six-months away from her, so he agreed to the deal.
Now he will be out of her life for three years. That is a long time for a little girl to be away from the father she loves. This is also something that was in his control, so he is deciding to be away from her. What kind of repercussions will this have on her development and future? When it is all said and done, did Drew make the very best choice?
