The General Hospital recap for August 11, 2023, features Anna deciding it would be a good night for a run and someone else deciding it would be a good night for a fire.

General Hospital Recap Highlights

In this episode, Anna returned home to find her house was on fire. At the Port Charles Police Department, Carly, Olivia, and Neddie explained their bar brawl to Chase. Sam and Dante tried to have some alone time, but Olivia interrupted the same way Neddie interrupted Sonny’s sleep. Finally, Finn had a big ask of Elizabeth. Now, let’s dig a little deeper into the details.

General Hospital: Anna’s House Engulfed

Despite being a target for an assassin, Anna (Finola Hughes) thought it was a good idea to go for an evening run. Too bad she didn’t know someone was lurking outside her door. As she ran, that someone entered her house, poured lighter fluid everywhere, and lit several matches.

Anna continued to run as flames swept through her house but when she returned home, she realized the door knob was hot. Still, she opened the door and walked right in as her house burned to a crisp. She finally decided to walk outside and call 911, hopefully knowing that she shouldn’t have walked in, to begin with.

General Hospital Recap: A Not-So-Quiet Port Charles Night

Ava (Maura West) made a frantic all to Sonny (Maurice Benard) to make sure he had the Nanny Betty (Ella Lentini) situation under control and he assured her everything would be fine. Sonny and Nina (Cynthia Watros) then turned in for the night until Sonny got another call.

Chase (Josh Swickard) hauled Neddie (Wally Kurth), Carly (Laura Wright), and Olivia (Lisa LoCicero) down the PCPD after their bar brawl at the Highsider. Olivia tried to explain what happened as Carly broke it to Neddie that she wasn’t falling for his pickup lines — she was just trying to get him to go back to the Quartermaine house. At least the Highsider manager decided not to press charges.

Still, they needed someone to sign them out so Neddie called Sonny, but Dante was the first to show. When Sonny got there, he offered to also help Carly, but she refused. Instead, she called Josslyn (Eden McCoy) to come get her.

As for Mason (Nathanyael Grey)? He ended up in Austin’s (Roger Howarth) office looking for a doctor. After Austin fixed his Carly-inflicted head wound, Mason asked him for an update on Betty.

When Nina woke in the middle of the night to find Sonny gone, she freaked out and called Ava. Nina was just told that was par for the course when being married to the mob — or at least when planning to marry the mob.

Before Dante made it to the PCPD, he spent some time with Sam (Kelly Monaco), who interrupted some sexy time to see if Dante would be willing to rent his house to Maxie. Sam made the case for Maxie (Kirsten Storms) by explaining about Maxie’s bickering kids. That was enough to convince Dante that it was a good idea. He even thought Lulu would love the idea. At least when he got home from the PCPD, sexy time proceeded as planned.

Finally, Finn (Michael Easton) and Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst) met up on the GH roof for a quiet talk where he told her about a patient he just lost. He thought he was treating a parasite but realized the patient also had stage 4 cancer, but it was too late to save him. It felt personal to him because the patient was the father of one of Violet’s classmates. He wondered what would happen if he died from cancer, prompting him to ask Liz to be Violet’s guardian if God forbid he was gone. Of course, she said yes, so Finn was relieved.
