NCIS to accelerate Jimmy and Knight’s relationship as showrunner drops clue
NCIS fans will see more from Jimmy and Palmer's romance as their colleagues will finally be made aware of their relationship.
CBS’ hit procedural drama, NCIS is drawing closer to its highly anticipated, yet dreaded season 20 finale.
However, the release of first-look photos has given fans a major insight into the instalment’s closing episode.
Many questions were raised about Nick Torres (played by Wilmer Valderrama), as the troubled agent had a shaved head and was pictured in prison wearing an orange uniform.
Although viewers will have to wait and see if Torres has landed himself in jail or is on an undercover mission.
The penultimate episode titled, Kompromat will put Jimmy Palmer’s (Brian Dietzen) and Jessica Knight’s (Katrina Law) relationship in the spotlight.
Even though Knight wanted to keep their romance away from the eyes of their co-workers, the couple could have no choice but to talk about their relationship at work
Showrunner Steven D Binder revealed: “We’ve been slow-rolling Jimmy and Knight’s relationship, and part of that is because Knight just doesn’t want to bring it to the office.
“But in the second to last episode, a facet of it lands in the office with a big loud thud, and you see our characters reacting to it.”
In the first look photo, the couple were pictured at the office looking deep into each other’s eyes.
But Special Agent Alden Parker (Gary Cole) spotted their intimacy as he knowingly looked at the couple’s interaction.
The episode synopsis provided more insight into the episode, as it read: “NCIS must investigate a string of Russian spy encounters that may be linked to a suspicious murder.
“Jimmy accidentally makes a confession that could change the course of his relationship with Knight.”
In season 19, the pair have cemented themselves as one of the drama’s favourite couples as sparks flew as soon as Knight entered the fray.
Although they both developed feelings for one another, things got off to a slow start as Palmer admitted he was finding it hard to move past the loss of his wife, Breena (Michelle Pierce) during the coronavirus pandemic.
Despite this, they were willing to move forward with their relationship as Knight met Palmer’s daughter Victoria (Elle Graper) earlier this season.
However, the movie ended on an awkward note when Knight realised he was acting strange.
After a conversation with Kasie Hines (Dione Reasonover), she learned the film was a family favourite and Palmer was missing his wife at that moment.
NCIS season 20 continues Mondays on CBS in the USA.
