On Sunday’s episode of TLC’s “Sister Wives,” Kody Brown suggests that his estranged wife Meri Brown go live in a barn on his Coyote Pass property — she doesn’t take it well.

During a scene likely filmed in early 2022 — at which point Kody had already expressed he had no interest in a romantic relationship with Meri but she hadn’t left the family yet — he tells Meri and his fourth wife Robyn Brown that he has plans to build a “barndominimum” on the family property.

When Meri tells Kody her plans to downsize her home in Flagstaff, Arizona, and relocate all of her businesses to Utah, he suggests that she live in the combination barn and condominium when she’s visiting Arizona.

Kody explains to Meri that a “barndominium” is a storage barn with a loft on top of it that she would be welcome to live in — as long as she was content with having his extra cars and junk in her basement.

“So basically, he just wants to put me out there with all the stuff, the extra stuff that he doesn’t want to see, he doesn’t want to deal with, he doesn’t have room for,” she tells cameras.

“The cars, the storage, the Meri,” she jokes, making a point about how little she feels like Kody values her. She also calls the suggestion insulting.

For his part, Kody tells cameras in a confessional interview that there is no right answer that he can give Meri about what she should do, because she’s holding on to hope for a reconciliation that he has no interest in. Their relationship had been strained for years, dating back to at least 2015 when Meri fell victim to a catfishing scandal.

“I think the writing is on the wall, it’s been obvious to me,” Kody says, alluding to an official split.

He continues on, saying that Meri is resistant to have that conversation with him every time he tries to being it up.

“It’s not really fair to either of us, but as long as she wants to live in this denial, I guess I can live in it with her,” he concludes.

Three of Kody’s four wives officially ended their relationships with him in the span of about 14 months. Kody and Meri, his first and at one point sole legal wife, were the last to announce their official split in January 2023.

Before that, his second “spiritual” wife Janelle Brown announced their separation in December 2022, though she didn’t publicly say the marriage was over until August 2023 in People. His third “spiritual” wife Christine Brown was the first to leave him. The exes announced in November 2021 that their union had come to an end. He’s currently only married — legally or spiritually — to Robyn.
